What a wonderful year for Wisconsin sports.....I'm loving it

Because once the end of October and November roll around I'm going to be chained to that store. And December? Fugettaboutit.

up north weekend

BEN AND I HAD THE SAME 3 DAY WEEKEND OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so of course we went somewhere

hello winter, wisconsin :)

we headed out for the cabin from Milwaukee around 8:45 on Friday night... and got up to the cabin around 2am. we saw right around 10 deer on our trip, including a pair that was standing in the road. naturally, i honked the horn at them..... one got so freaked out that it fell over. i felt so bad i rolled down the window and yelled sorry as we drove by.

we met up with my mom and dad and their dog eko, who was ecstatic to see us. Eko later became Ben's very bestest friend because they both highly enjoy lighting things on fire and blowing things up. Eko LOVES loud noises and explosions and catching the bottle rockets after they explode. So does Ben. Boys will be boys I suppose.

seriously eko...

RUUUUUN!!!!!!

fireworks!!

we drove to hayward on saturday and played some mini golf, which (after quite a bit of smack talk from all parties involved) Ben completely won and I definitely lost. I took some risks in my mini golf game, I will admit, so I'm glad to say that I was only one stroke behind dad.

..................................

grandpa and grandma De bought us a bunch of pottery barn plates and bowls and cups and other dishes for one of our wedding gifts. these large boxes filled with goodness were delivered to our apartment last thursday night. kitchen space here is extremely limited, so I have been getting creative with where things are located.

this place looks like a war zone. there are boxes and half opened gifts everywhere...which is not completely bad, it's just messy and making me develop a twitch.

almost wedding

Yesterday-- 9.10.11-- was our almost wedding date. Almost as in it was written on the calendar, spread by mouth to a bunch of our guests-to-be, and planned on for 6 months or so.
Then we changed the venue, and changed that date.
I like August 13th better anyways :)

So, we have been married just under a month. Crazy how quick that goes by!

Anyways.... today husband tells me that Sundays are "man days," and that he is a man and that he doesn't do anything on Sunday man day except watch football and eat. Boy is it cute how wrong he is....

writing thank you cards is.... work. and it takes some time.

This last Thursday, Ben and I both had off of work. It was the Packer's home opener, as well as the football season opener. We were thinking that we would spend the morning at the Milwaukee zoo and then head downtown Milwaukee to watch the Packer game.

Long story short, we ended up in Green Bay for some tailgating, watching the Kid Rock concert, and getting on the NFL Network. The we watched the game at the Stadium Sports Bar next door to Lambeau Field. Good game, and a fun time! And we were home by about 12:30am...so not too shabby

ben's old coworker was there

I'm making a photo book with a bunch of pictures from our wedding. Kinda like the one I made with a lot of our pictures from over the last seven years. That's been a significant amount of work too...but more fun than the thank you cards.

Ten year anniversary since September 11, 2001. We will never forget.

& I'm loving every minute

"& with that first kiss I felt my life beginning. & the clock just froze, & the world stopped spinning. now the memory of that moment is never ending. you make time stand still.... & I'm loving every minute"   first dance :)

I love being married to Ben. I love waking up next to him. I love waking up and hearing him put the dishes in the dishwasher. I love making him laugh. I love when he makes me laugh. I love grocery shopping together and making dinner together. I love trying to both fit on our little 2 person couch. I love talking to him. I love calling him my husband.
And apparently I threw the bouquet to the wrong person... near the end of our wedding reception, Ashely's boyfriend Matt went up to Steve and asked to marry Ashley.... AAAAHHH!! :) Two weeks later and Ashley is engaged!!

Tomorrow is Ben's 26th birthday! I don't know exactly what to do for a fresh husband's 26th birthday... I wish we had a second car for starters.

mr & mrs

I now present to you:
            Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Z

We both showed up, we smiled, we looked good, we got married!!

It was sooo much fun!! The girls got together at my parent's house in LM the morning of the wedding and did hair, nails, mimosas, general getting ready. We have plenty of videos and pictures of the fun. I'm not gonna lie.... I was freaking out a tiny little bit-- I was getting MARRIED that afternoon. But by the time we showed up at the church, I was (more) ready to kick some butt.

So we get to the church, finish getting ready, and then it's time to take a walk. Just a little walk.... or in my case.... a power walk.

We sing some hymns, we take our vows, we exchange rings, we kiss. We are husband and wife :)

After the ceremony,  Ben and I ushered everyone from the pews. Then we hit up the awesome party bus that Ben booked for the wedding party transportation.
We stopped at Bartel's Beach for some pictures....

And then we headed to Central Coast in Fort Atkinson for the reception. AWESOME time!!

We had a candy bar buffet, complimentary beer and wine, a photo booth, a kid's room with snacks and movies playing all night, an outdoor patio, and a great dance floor. Plus, the food was amazing. So was the cake.

And so, we danced the night away. We stayed until the end.. which was something we decided early on we would do... the night was too short, and it was our party. Lame? Maybe, but I would do it again.
