pita chips & progress
We are under the 5 month mark, and I feel we are doing just fine! Well, for us at least...
I got my dress!!!!! It has everything that I was looking for when I first began that pain in the bum dress shopping process.... & when I put it on I thought "ooooooh" and when my mom saw it she cried. So it must be good. It should be coming in late June or early July-- not bad for my indecison problems.
Saturday night we went to the Central Coast for our food tasting. A-MAZING! We ended up choosing the grilled breast of chicken with wild mushroom marsala sauce and then the marinated flank steak over sauteed peppers and onions. My mouth is watering just thinking about it... it is some very tasty food. We also got to see the room being set up for an event, which helped us to better visualize how we could decorate and utilize the space for our night.
And most importantly.... I am currently on a FOUR DAY WEEKEND. I have no idea how that happened, but I'll take it. I cleaned this dirty dirty apartment, tried to sleep in, addressed save the date cards, watched a whole lot of "Life" and "Friends," and took a trip to Walmart for all those stinking essentials like toilet paper..... where I found pita chips for relatively cheap. I am addicted.
We really should figure out a photographer. That's my goal for today.

mardi gras 2011
WHOO HOO!! we made it to new orleans for mardi gras 2011! loves it!
we left milwaukee around 5:30 on Sunday afternoon.... drove 16 hours (plus a stop overnight) and dun dun dun made it there in one piece by Monday afternoon. so Monday we did a lot of walking around and taking in all the sights and sounds and parades and beads. we also met up with some of ben's friends who happened to be down there at the same time.
tuesday rolled around and we had a blast walking around on bourbon street and watching the parades during the day. tuesday night we paid to get up on a balcony with all you can eat and all you can drink from six until midnight. very fun throwing beads out to the people down below!!!
anywho, on wednesday morning we hopped in the car again and drooooooove drove drove because I had to be to work by 9am on Thursday morning. we rolled in at 5:30am.....
but more about all this later. it's friday night :)

down to new orleans
honestly...
we do a lot of traveling on a minimum amount of plans. i love it :)

here's the background on that:
ben went down to nashville with him dad to promote their film Journey to Paradise. while he was there (& sidenote, I was in green bay for the film festival) ben kept texting me that he wished we could go to new orleans for mardi gras. well... if i switched a day here and took a personal day there, it could be done. i let ben know that, and within 48 hours he had "accidentally" booked a hotel right near canal and bourbon..... because priceline is amazing. i mean, a $350 per night room for $135? yes please!! hello roadtrip!!
it should be a blast. we went last year, right after the saints won the super bowl so it was intense. well, now a couple of wisconsin kids will be representing the super bowl champs GB packers down on the bay. here's a couple pictures from last year.......

it's been fun. and hopefully all will go well and we will have some more fun this year. i'm really glad ben and i both have that certain level of laid back spontaneous attitude... it makes for quite the adventure :)
