easter egg hunt!

best. day. ever.

Yesterday, Ben surprised me with nothing less than and EASTER EGG HUNT in my very own apartment!!!!!! Long story short, Ben came home from work and asked me (and Jessica) to go to the grocery store so we could grill out for dinner. He mentioned that he had a surprise, but with his silly sense of humor I was sure it would be something lame like "hey look! I changed my clothes!" I'm just sayin'.....

ANYWHO, Jess and I came back from the store and Ben met us in the hall with a couple of bags. He gave one to each of us and then opened the apartment door. Let me tell ya.... the sun came pouring through and the hallelujiah chorus rang out strong! I was sooo freaking excited running around and finding those colorful eggs filled with my favorite kinds of candy :) By now, I'm sure the next door neighbors are ready to have me committed.

On that note, the time has come for my "Summer Shower Concert Series." Yes-- awesome. Basically, this consists of me belting out the lastest musical melodies whilst I bathe. I'm sure it's a real treat for anyone close enough to hear...... dot dot dot...... real treat.... siiiiinging in the shower....... good stuff.....

cut my hair

So...I really  need a hair cut I can't even see what I'm typing. The only way Britani will give me a hair cut is if I write on this blog!!! So I'm writing to any hot single ladies out their that know how to cut hair to come over and give me a hair cut ASAP! Please call me once you get here. You have my number. big money, big money

after spending time in amelia island with the fam, I jumped on a plane and flew to Charlotte, NC (I hit up every time zone...) and then on the loooooongest flight of my life to LAS VEGAS!!! boo ya! First solo plane trip and I survived!




The flight landed in Vegas around 10:30 on Wednesday night... and I was finally meeting up with Ben around 11:30 (thank you mister cab-driver-oops-i-missed-a-turn-due-to-"construction"). Anywho, the trip consisted mostly of seeing The Price is Right Live (thanks David!), walking around Las Vegas Boulevard, watching Big Elvis sing, sitting poolside in the sun, playing slot machines ("Wizard of Oz" especially... $50 winner here!), and general tomfoolery before heading back to still wintery Wisconsin.






Overall, very very fun stuff! I did have a minor moment of wanting to talk wedding stuff the whole time since Ben and I really never have corresponding days off.... so I did slip some of that in... but we really tried to just have a good time and not worry about deposits and color schemes and invites and all that jazz. It was a great time :)

So. I'm at Amelia Island with the family. Mom, dad, sister and I all made the awesome little car ride together.... which ended up being.... long. Car rides are less fun when no one agrees on the music that should be played, whether said music should then be blasted, if the windows should be up or down, and when bathroom breaks should be taken. And the backseat/passenger seat driving? Enough to make you take a sleeping pill or two and pretend at least a couple hours of the ride never happened.

But I love them all.

Anyways.... the weather has been AMAZING. 80 degrees and sunny, sunny, sunny. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Love it.

I met my little German cousins yesterday, and spent a couple hours with them today playing in the sand building sand castles and jumping over waves in the ocean. They are really adorable kids. It's funny though, because they know German, but a lot of English too. So when they start talking to me in German, my 4 years of German class in high school run the other way and I have only the slightest clue what they are talking about. So I smile and nod. Because they are really cute kids.

AAAAAND Wednesday afternoon I fly to Vegas to join Ben. I hope he is behaving himself and not gambling away our wedding fund. Or first child.
